Nice, France

Our hostel was so pretty, it deserved its own picture.
The view from our hostel room. We shared with two girls from Australia who were backpacking around Europe as well.
The boulevard, stretching for miles along the coast.
These apartments overlook le Port de Nice; a playground for the rich and famous.
The ocean. Don't be fooled by how wonderfully clear and blue it is - the pebble beach had a massive drop where the waves break and a strong current to match, meaning getting out of the sea was an absolute mission. I probably still have the bruises now.
The town square at midday. It was deserted because it was so hot, but in our ignorance we plodded through the town anyway... and ended up in bed with heat stroke at 7pm.
Old Town, Nice - off the beaten track of the boulevard and about 10 minute walk from the main tourist attractions, but brimming with buskers, liveliness and unusual shops. Definitely worth a visit.
A day trip to Monte Carlo - home of the rich and famous.
Casino de Monte Carlo. We did not attempt to go in.
One of the many fountains in one of the many parks in Monte Carlo. There were so many ridiculous rules like no eating, no photography, no meandering. We probably broke all of them.
We climbed up a large hill to try and reach the jardin exotique and on the way up found ourselves overlooking the marina.
Old Town had many weird and wonderful ice cream parlours and creperies nestled in its back alleys. My best friend tried a rose petal ice cream, and I tried lavender - they were delicious.
